Memorable Date Night Ideas

Whether you are planning a first date or an anniversary…dinner & a movie can get really old. We compiled a list of great date nights for almost every type of couple. Whether you are outdoorsy, laid back, athletic, competitive, foodie or just have a simple love for life…these date ideas can make a first date go from 0 to 10 or make your anniversaries a lot more memorable for your significant other!

  • Brewery/Winery Tour

  • DFW has many awesome local breweries & Grapevine has some great wineries. This would be the perfect pre-dinner adventure!

  • Improv or Comedy Show

  • Shows are always fun! Especially if you and your date love to laugh and have a good light-hearted time.

  • Fireside Dinner at Home

  • Especially during the winter…a well lite fire and some good homemade food is always a winner.

  • Drive-In Movies

  • This can make a movie date a little more exciting. Something new and different.

  • Carnivals or Fairs

  • State Fair of Texas or Main Street Days in Grapevine can make a day-date so much fun.

  • Cook Dinner Together

  • For younger couples that aren’t great at cooking…this can make for some good laughs.

  • Mini Road Trip

  • There are many great places to visit around DFW. Take a day trip or a one-night trip to somewhere new.

  • Mud Run or Color Run

  • For the athletic couple that loves to get out and do new things…the Mud Run and Color Run would be great options.

  • Picnic Date

  • Maybe not in the 102 degree weather…but once September rolls around, a great picnic by a lake of Klyde Warren Park would be a good surprise.

  • Game Night

  • Who doesn’t love to play games from childhood? Take out that old Pac-Man game, Life, Foozball Table, or any other games you might have. This will allow for a quiet night together full of childhood memories.

  • Volunteer at an Animal Shelter

  • For all the animal lovers out there, volunteering can be a lot of fun. Take the dogs out for a walk, play fetch, and just spend some time getting to know each other while helping out.

  • Concert or Opera

  • This is a great option for the couples that love music.

  • Spa Date

  • Go get a couple’s massage and facials. Nothing like a relaxing day at the spa.

  • Lake Day

  • You can rent Paddleboards, Kayaks, and boats at your local marina. Spend a fun day on the lake! This is a great way to cool off during the summer.

  • Cooking School at Central Market

  • Another idea for those young couples who are learning to cook.

  • Museums

  • Dallas Art Museum, The Perot, Dallas Holocaust Museum, Nasher Sculpture Center, George W. Bush Presidential Library, etc.

  • Indoor Skydiving

  • Evening Helicopter Ride

  • Starlight Flight in Addison

  • Bingo Night

  • Okay, we know that some people think Bingo isn’t for young fun couples…but trust me…it can be a BLAST! Just trust me! (:

  • Painting with a Twist

  • This is a great date even for couples that are not artsy. BYOB at some locations!

  • Go look at Christmas Lights around DFW

  • During the Holiday season you can look up great Christmas Light tours to drive through. Texas Motor Speedway also has an awesome Christmas Light tour!

  • Katy Trail Hike

  • This is such a fun walk/jog for couples to do together. Get outside & have fun getting in some physical activity.

  • Dallas or Fort Worth Zoo

  • Go walk around the Dallas or Fort Worth Zoo together! This is something different & fun for couples.

  • Karaoke Bar

  • Who doesn’t love to sing or at least watch people try?

  • Billy Bob’s Texas

  • Go see a country concert or just go dancing!

  • Cowboys, Mavericks, Stars or Rangers Game

  • We have some GREAT professional teams in Dallas. Going to a game can be a lot of fun. If we both love football…Cowboys is your perfect bet. Neither of you understand hockey…Go to Stars game and try to figure out the rules and signs! This can be a lot of fun and a great bonding experience.

  • College Sports

  • If your college team is in town for the weekend, bring your date to the game instead of your boys! This will allow her to see a part of your history and everyone loves some good ole college stories!

  • Gun Range

  • Men love to teach what they know…going to a gun range is the perfect place to teach your significant other something new.

  • Rock Climbing

  • Grapevine has a great indoor rock climbing gym: Summit Climbing, Yoga, & Fitness.

  • Ice Skating

  • During the Holiday season…the Galleria has an awesome indoor ice skating rink. This a great indoor date for those really cold nights.

  • Golf

  • Okay…so I know every girl doesn’t love to play 18 holes of golf. Maybe just hit up the driving range and putting green. This can be a learning experience. Or just check out Top Golf…this is great option for the golf lovers who don’t want to take the chance of a real golf course for a date!
